Wolf Kahn (American, b. Germany 1927) uses the seen world as a point of departure, a starting place for his investigations into the push and power of harmonic colors. Paradoxically, given that he often works in nearly violent colors, his paintings are wonderfully tranquil; exercises in chromatic tension and formal movement, they are also sharply evocative of real-world wooded hillsides and weathered farm buildings. Even as the viewer is pleasurably stunned by Kahns big, bold colors, the sensation of sun on the back of ones neck and the woodsy scent of fallen leaves are present and strong.

I order the same calendar every year and just love it. Has enough room to record important dates and has beautiful artwork.
This is a beautiful calendar. A pleasure to view every month.
Wonderful and Beautiful pictures - the colors are crisp and almost look real. The quality of calendar paper makes the colors pop.
I always get this calendar for every new year. Love the images and the colors
gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. I cut out the various reproductions from an older Wolf Kahn Calendar and matted and framed them for my office, and then hung the rest of the months up in my laundry room. This 2017 Calendar is going to have the same fate once the year is over!
While the art is lovely, I thought the colors would be bolder. The art also doesn't take up the entirety of the page for the month. There's a border on all sides of white. I didn't like that, but there weren't any images to show you while it looked like on the inside.
There have been a few years when I bought other wall calendars, just for the variety of it, but I always return to Wolf Kahn. Every month is beautiful. A joy to look at for 4 weeks. I never tire of his work.
